Two months for public space
The City wants to receive any request to film in the street, on a square or on a quay at least two months before the date. I file this application as soon as the project is approved.

Bordeaux is filmed the way you plan a trip: permits requested two months ahead, filming grouped over two days, several films brought back from a single trip. Businesses, cultural venues, events: I write, film and edit their films.

Before coming to Bordeaux
From Lyon, Bordeaux is half a day away. Rather than multiplying round trips, I group scouting, interviews and illustrative footage into a single stay, then deliver the main film and short formats together.

Cité du Vin, Bassins de Lumières, museums, a UNESCO-listed city: Bordeaux lives on culture. The Musée Henri Martin documentary shows how I film a venue and artists.

By train, allow at least four and a half hours with a change; by car, around five and a half hours. A Bordeaux shoot is therefore planned with one to two nights’ stay.

Case studies
An artist documentary for a museum in the South-West, a brand reception on the Croisette, a company anniversary: three types of project that cultural institutions and Bordeaux companies also carry. The films are online on each case study.

MUSÉE HENRI MARTIN · CAHORS
The Musée Henri Martin in Cahors entrusted me with the direction, cinematography and editing of a documentary on Jeffrey & Sally, two artists whose work blends painting and observation of the living world. The approach is contemplative: textures of the forest, play of shadow, slow gestures, glances. The museum uses it to present its artists and make people want to visit. A Bordeaux institution, a gallery or a wine house can tell their world with the same patience.

AFTERWORK RUNNING · 2025
The Valence Afterwork Running brought together more than 2,500 one-evening athletes, employees of 170 companies, with a 700 m² village and 120 volunteers mobilised. I scouted the key moments beforehand, then filmed in the middle of the pack and between the stands, so that every company could find itself in it. An inter-company sports challenge in Bordeaux, on the quays or elsewhere in the metropolitan area, is organised along the same lines.

KOEZIO · 20 YEARS
Koezio celebrated its twentieth anniversary with its teams: group challenges, conferences, then an evening party. The film keeps a clear thread from one moment to the next and a consistent image despite very different lighting. A seminar at the Bordeaux-Lac Palais des Congrès, a convention or a company anniversary can be told with the same method.

Services
Museums and cultural venues, companies in the metropolitan area, conference organisers, estates and wine merchants: I start by defining who the film is for and where it will be seen; everything else follows.
Your teams, your places, your method: a film written with you, shot over one or two days during the same stay, with short versions delivered at the same time.

Bordeaux, the practical side
Filming request to the City at least two months ahead, via the Centre des manifestations publiques.
Dense city and Mérignac airport: each flight is assessed case by case, often without go-ahead.
The water mirror and the quays draw crowds: better to film at dawn or at dusk.
Museums, châteaux, halls: the agreement comes from the manager, with their hours and rules.
Bordeaux settings
Blond stone of the listed centre, wasteland turned creative venues, recent business districts, wine cellars half an hour away: six areas to combine during a single stay.
Pey-Berland, Saint-Pierre, rue Sainte-Catherine: 18th-century façades and lively alleys, for a portrait, a shop or an institutional film.
Place de la Bourse, water mirror, promenade along the Garonne: the face of Bordeaux on postcards, best filmed at dawn.
Former trading district, Cité du Vin, Bassins de Lumières in the submarine base: a north of the city between heritage and recent cultural facilities.
La Bastide and the Darwin ecosystem, set up in the former Niel barracks: workshops, committed businesses and a view of the left-bank façades.
Around the station, new offices, MÉCA and quai de Paludate: a contemporary setting for a corporate film or interviews.
Pessac-Léognan at the city’s gates, Saint-Émilion and the Médoc a little further: cellars, vine rows and estates, with the owner’s agreement.
Method
Scoping by video call, application to the City, grouped filming stay, editing in Lyon and approvals online.
Goal, places, dates: a clear offer, travel and nights on site included.
Application to the City, stay schedule, private venues confirmed, interview outline.
One day for an event or a series of interviews, two to gather several films in a single stay.
Editing, colour grading, sound, animation; your feedback is noted directly on the video.
Organising the shoot
From Lyon, every trip to Bordeaux counts. Depending on your needs, we concentrate everything in one session, or plan visits throughout the year.
In both cases, I prepare the permits well before filming, since the City asks for two months for public space. For a live broadcast or a multi-camera set-up, a production company is better.

We go over dates, places and the number of films by phone: twenty minutes, no obligation.

About
My job since 2018: writing, filming and editing for businesses, cultural venues and events, animation and 3D included. On a large set-up, a second operator joins me; your contact does not change.
A few references: the Musée Henri Martin documentary, Koezio, Mars Wrigley, Victador, the DGAEV. From Lyon, I come to Bordeaux for shoots organised as a stay.

Four elements make up the price: preparation, filming days, post-production, options (short formats, 3D, subtitles). To these are added the trip from Lyon and accommodation, shown on a separate line of the quote. The detail of each item is on my pricing page.
For the street, a square or the quays, the City of Bordeaux requires the filming form to be filed at least two months before the date, with the Centre des manifestations publiques. For a private venue, it is the manager who authorises. I handle both procedures.
Rarely. The centre is a dense urban area, close to the airspace of Bordeaux-Mérignac airport: a flight requires a precise study and prior procedures, with an answer that is not guaranteed. I then suggest high-angle shots from a private vantage point.
Yes, it is public space: you therefore need the City’s permit. As the place is very busy, I recommend dawn or dusk, when the reflections are at their best and the public is scarcer.
Yes, if the estate agrees: winemaker portraits, work in the cellar, receiving clients. During the harvest, the schedule fits around the team’s work, which remains the priority.
By train, at least four and a half hours with a change; by car, about five and a half hours. That is why I group Bordeaux shoots into one or two days, with a night on site.
Yes: conferences, stands, interviews, general atmosphere. The Mars Wrigley stand, filmed at the TFWA in Cannes, is an example; a conference at the Palais des Congrès or a trade show at Bordeaux-Lac is prepared the same way.
Yes: the metropolitan area (Mérignac, Pessac, Talence, Bègles, Le Bouscat, Lormont, Cenon), the Libourne area and Saint-Émilion, the Médoc, the Arcachon basin, and all over France.
Corporate film, documentary, event: a director, supported if needed by a second operator, is enough. Live broadcast, control room or a multi-camera studio call for a production company: the page video production in Toulouse details this case.
Yes: portraits of artists, craftspeople or executives, films about a place. The Musée Henri Martin one is an example, with slow writing attentive to gestures.
Often, yes. Over two days, we can gather the main film, interviews, illustrative shots and the vertical formats. We just need to build the stay’s schedule in advance.
In spring as in autumn, the light stays soft; autumn also coincides with the harvest. Summer draws many visitors to the quays, and the oceanic winter means planning indoor options in case of rain.
It is not essential: the project is scoped by video call, and scouting is done the day before the shoot. Editing is then followed through versions commented online.
Website, social media, trade shows, screens, presentations: the music rights cover all of this. Television or billboards: to be flagged when requesting the quote.
