Where to film
Nice, from the Promenade
to the Var plain.
Between the sea, the old town and the business districts growing to the west, Nice changes face within a few tram stops. Here are six areas to know, with what each one brings to your film.
Promenade des Anglais
Seafront, grand hotels, beaches and blue chairs: the image the world associates with Nice. Ideal for a hotel or a brand, as long as you work around the crowds and the site’s own rules, such as the ban on cherry pickers on the seaward pavement.
Old Nice and Castle Hill
Colourful alleys, Cours Saleya and its market, a sweeping view from the hill: an authentic Nice for a craftsperson, a restaurant or a regional film. The streets are narrow and lively: we film light, preferably in the morning.
Port Lympia and OcéaNice
Ochre façades, fishing and pleasure boats, and since 2025 the OcéaNice conference centre, which hosts trade shows and conventions while awaiting the future convention centre planned near the airport.
Cimiez and the hills
Belle Époque villas, gardens, the Musée Matisse, the monastery: a calm, bright setting for interviews, artist portraits or small seminars.
Arénas and Grand Arénas
The western business district, opposite France’s second-busiest airport, is expanding with the Grand Arénas: offices, hotels, new facilities. A contemporary setting for a head office, a firm or a recruitment film.
Var plain and Sophia Antipolis
Nice Méridia, the Allianz Riviera, the Palais Nikaïa and, half an hour away, the Sophia Antipolis business park: innovation, sport and big shows, with sites whose access is negotiated with each operator.
