Brand activations, sport and international clientele · Courchevel

Videographer in
Courchevel.

Brand pop-ups, ski competitions, clientele from all over the world: in Courchevel, a video must be ready fast and understood by everyone. I film activations, sport and events in the resort’s five villages, with English versions when needed.

The rhythm of Courchevel

A short season,
a fast image.

From mid-December to April, everything plays out within a few weeks: an activation, a competition or a launch must be filmed, edited and published while the clientele is still there. I plan for clips delivered straight afterwards.

Activating a brand

At the TFWA show in Cannes, I covered the Mars Wrigley stand from the first visitor to the last: activities, products, reactions. A pop-up shop or a brand space in the resort is filmed with the same energy.

Under three hours

Courchevel is a little under three hours’ drive from Lyon, via the A43 and Moûtiers. In winter, TGVs also serve Moûtiers station, from where the ascent is by coach or taxi. I sleep on site before each filming day.

Case studies

Activate, charm,
perform.

A stand at a global trade show, a premium film made with an English-speaking team, an app launch with a champion: three answers to the expectations of the brands, houses and organisers present in Courchevel.

MARS WRIGLEY · TFWA

An activation filmed continuously

At the TFWA, the global travel-retail event in Cannes, I directed, filmed and edited the coverage of the Mars Wrigley stand. Moving camera, existing lighting, close-ups on colours and slow motion: the film keeps the buzz of the space and the visitors’ reactions. For a brand opening a pop-up shop or an exhibition space in the resort, it is the same work, with clips ready for social media.

VICTADOR · YAXO

Premium, in English

For Victador, a brand film conceived in Canada by Yaxo, I delivered all the compositing in Fusion, in exchanges entirely in English: an SR-71 Blackbird integrated behind supercars, materials and logo refined with Adrien Lafourcade. For a luxury house or a dealer present in the resort, it is proof that you can aim for a very high-end image and an international clientele.

OLY · TEDDY RINER

A champion on camera

Teddy Riner and the team at OLY, a sports coaching app, entrusted me with the launch videos: portraits of the champion, exercise demonstrations, all in vertical. A ski competition, a partner athlete or a ski school wanting regular content will find a direct method here.

Courchevel, the practical side

Filming in Courchevel: good to know.

Commune and ski area

The town hall authorises filming in public space; the operator authorises filming on the pistes and in the lifts.

Drone

Altiport, helicopters and pistes: flight studied in advance, often impossible.

High season

February holidays and festive season: full resort, accommodation to book early.

Altitude

At 1,850 m, the cold drains batteries: equipment doubled and protected.

Resort settings

Courchevel, five villages
at five altitudes.

From Le Praz, at 1,300 m, up to Courchevel 1850 and its altiport, each village has its own atmosphere, views and hours of sun. Six landmarks to choose where to film.

Courchevel 1850

La Croisette, the snow front, the shopping streets: the most lively heart of the resort, for a shop, a brand or an evening.

The altiport

Its sloping runway, unique of its kind, and the view of the summits: a strong setting for a brand film, to be filmed from the ground, under conditions.

Courchevel Moriond

Sunny, more family-oriented, with its residences and snow front: an accessible setting for interviews or seasonal content.

Courchevel Village

More traditional chalets and direct access to the ski area: a village atmosphere for a portrait or a feature on local crafts.

Le Praz and its ski jumps

The lowest village, its lake and the 1992 Olympic ski jumps: a strong sporting image, summer and winter alike.

La Tania and the forest

On the west side, a village among the fir trees linked to the ski area: a more intimate setting for a photo-video session or a brand shoot.

Method

Simple, from brief
to film.

Video call, permits, filming in the resort, editing in Lyon, clips delivered during the season.

Choosing your period

In high season
or in the off-season?

Filming when the resort is full shows the real atmosphere; filming before opening leaves the field clear. The right choice depends on what you want to show.

In high season

  • — Clientele, activity, shops open.
  • — Competitions and activations under way.
  • — Accommodation to book very early.
  • — Access and parking more difficult.

In the off-season

  • + Empty venues, more freedom for staging.
  • + Easier access to sites.
  • + Fewer scheduling constraints.
  • + Lifts and shops sometimes closed.
  • + Snow uncertain depending on the date.

Many brands combine both: a brand film shot in calm conditions, then seasonal content during the holidays. Live broadcast and multi-camera, on the other hand, call for a production company.

FAQ · Courchevel

Courchevel:
your questions.

Missing an answer? Write to me.

What budget for a shoot in Courchevel?

It depends on writing, days in the resort, editing, versions (English, short formats) and 3D options. Travel, accommodation and any lift passes appear on a separate line. Each item is explained on my pricing page.

Who authorises filming in the resort?

For the streets and squares, the Courchevel town hall issues the agreement. On the pistes or in the lifts, you need that of the company operating the ski area; in a shop, hotel or chalet, that of the owner. I coordinate everything.

Is a drone an option?

Rarely in season: the altiport, helicopter flights and active pistes make the airspace tightly regulated. I study each request, and otherwise suggest high-angle shots from the lifts or a balcony.

Is English possible?

Yes: English subtitles, interviews in English or separate versions, depending on your clientele. The whole Victador project took place in English: I work in that language with no difficulty.

Can you film a pop-up shop?

Yes: opening, guests, products, atmosphere, with clips delivered quickly for social media. The Mars Wrigley stand at the TFWA relied on the same activation logic.

How long from Lyon?

A little under three hours by car via the A43 and Moûtiers. In winter, you can also reach Moûtiers by TGV then go up by coach or taxi. I sleep in the resort the night before the shoot.

Do you film ski competitions?

Yes: starts, finishes, reactions, partners. Positions are decided with the organiser and race management, as for the Afterwork Running where every highlight was listed in advance.

Do you work in neighbouring resorts?

Yes: La Tania, Méribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Brides-les-Bains, Moûtiers, Bozel, Pralognan-la-Vanoise, and more widely across Savoie.

In which cases is a bigger crew needed?

Activation, brand film or competition aftermovie: I take care of it, with support if needed. Live, multi-camera or control room: that is the work of a production company, presented on my page video production (Lyon).

Can you put a product in 3D?

Yes: a modelled object, an enhanced set, bilingual titles. Victador shows demanding compositing, suited to high-end brands present in the resort.

Do you publish during the season?

I deliver vertical clips and short formats within 48 h if the schedule is planned from the start, so you can publish while your clients are in the resort.

Which period to choose?

December to April for snow and atmosphere, with a peak during the festive season and the February holidays. In summer, hiking, the Lac du Praz and activities take over. The off-season for a quiet shoot.

Is a meeting necessary?

A video call is enough to launch the project; scouting is done on site the day before. The versions are then approved online.

Where can the videos be used?

Website, social media, shops, screens, presentations abroad: the tracks used are bought for these uses. Television or billboards are specified in the quote.
