Filming a race
For the Afterwork Running, I filmed 2,500 runners: pack, village, highlights listed in advance. The same method applies to a trail or a valley race.

Mountain races, outdoor brands, seminars at the foot of Mont Blanc: in Chamonix, the image is decided between weather, altitude and lift timetables. I film sport and company life in the valley, two and a half hours’ drive from Lyon.

Filming in Chamonix
Here, the weather decides. A shot at the top of a lift, a race on the trails or a seminar on a terrace are prepared with a fallback date, spare batteries and a schedule set to the first cable car.
For the Afterwork Running, I filmed 2,500 runners: pack, village, highlights listed in advance. The same method applies to a trail or a valley race.
Compositing · Victador
The launch of OLY, Teddy Riner’s coaching app, taught me to film a champion and his exercises: precise frames, legible movements, tight pacing.
Vertical format · OLY
Via the A40, Chamonix is about two and a half hours from Lyon; by train, allow longer, with changes. For an early-morning shoot at altitude, I sleep in the valley the night before.

Case studies
A race with 2,500 participants, a champion filmed for an app, a company anniversary in three parts: three projects that speak to race organisers, sports brands and companies that choose the valley for their seminars.
AFTERWORK RUNNING · VALENCE
For the Valence Afterwork Running, I made the official film of a race evening bringing together 2,500 participants from 170 companies. Camera in the middle of the runners for the effort, in the village for the friendly atmosphere, and each highlight prepared in advance. A Chamonix trail or a valley race is filmed with the same balance between movement, faces and key moments, with the added constraint of the terrain.

OLY · TEDDY RINER
OLY, a coaching app designed with Teddy Riner, entrusted me with the videos for its launch: the champion in portrait, exercises demonstrated, all in vertical on a dark set lit with green neon. An outdoor equipment brand or a mountain school that wants to show a technical movement, an athlete or a product in action can rely on the same framing discipline.

KOEZIO · 20 YEARS
For its twentieth anniversary, Koezio brought its employees together for a day: team challenges, conferences, an evening party. The film follows the day from end to end while keeping a coherent image. A seminar in Chamonix, with a mountain activity, a plenary at the conference centre and a dinner, is told the same way.

Describe your project and your dates: I send you a quote with a weather fallback date, the next business day.
Services
Race organisers, equipment brands, schools and guides, hotels and seminar venues, companies on seminar: every shoot starts with a goal and a plan B in case of bad weather.
Your brand, your teams, your products in use: a film written with you, shot when the weather allows, delivered with its short versions.

In the mountains, the format is also chosen according to the time available on site. Here are the pairings I most often recommend in the valley.
| Goal | Format | Length | Where to publish it | Why it works |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Present a brand | Corporate film → | 1 to 2 min | Website, trade shows, shops | The product in use, in the mountains. |
| Get testimonials | Client testimonial → | 1 to 2 min | Website, LinkedIn | A participant or a client tells their story. |
| Recruit for the season | Employer brand video → | 60 s + portraits | Social media, job fairs | The valley’s trades, shown up close. |
| Relive a race | Aftermovie → | 2 to 3 min | Runners, partners | The emotion of the race, shared quickly. |
| Energise a community | Reels and vertical formats → | 15 to 45 s | Instagram, TikTok | Behind the scenes and highlights in vertical. |
| Show a route | Motion design and 3D → | 30 s to 1 min | Website, social media | Animated route and elevation. |
Chamonix, the practical side
Cable cars, the Montenvers train, ski areas: the operator’s agreement is needed on top of the commune’s.
Aiguilles Rouges reserve, Mont Blanc in summer, rescue services: flying rarely possible.
A fallback day is built in by default; at altitude, the cold drains batteries fast.
On a glacier or in alpine terrain, the crew is led by a guide.
Valley settings
Pedestrian street, glaciers, balconies facing Mont Blanc, hamlets and ski areas: the valley offers highly contrasting settings, each with its own access hours. Six areas to know.
Place Balmat, pedestrian street, banks of the Arve: the bustle of the town and its Belle Époque façades, for a portrait, a shop or an event in town.
The cable car climbs to 3,842 m, facing Mont Blanc: a spectacular setting, subject to the operator’s hours, the weather and the altitude.
The rack railway leads to France’s largest glacier: a powerful place to talk about mountains, climate or adventure.
The Aiguilles Rouges side, with the best view of the Mont Blanc range: ideal for a panoramic interview or opening shots.
Hamlets, chalets and access to the Grands Montets ski area: a calmer atmosphere for a seminar, a portrait or a product in use.
The former grand hotel turned conference centre, the valley’s hotels and mountain huts: the venues for plenaries, dinners and corporate seminars.
Method
Scoping video call, permits from the commune and operators, filming in the valley, editing in Lyon, versions approved online.
Goal, places, dates: a clear proposal with a weather fallback date.
Operators’ agreements, lift timetables, route, equipment suited to the cold.
One day for a race or a seminar; a fallback day held if the weather requires.
Editing, colour grading, sound, animated route maps; your feedback is noted on each version.
Season and light
The same valley offers two very different shoots depending on the season. The choice depends on your subject, your guests and the message to convey.
In both cases, I hold a fallback day and set the schedule with the site operators. For a live broadcast of a race, a specialised production company takes over.
Live or multi-camera: video production, Lyon →A date to set?
Season, places, plan B: twenty minutes on the phone to organise the shoot. No obligation.

About
A director since 2018, I write, film and edit sports, corporate and event films, with animation and 3D if needed. On a large race, a second operator joins me; your contact does not change.
On the sports side: the Afterwork Running, the OLY launch, the 240 MOOVA videos. On the companies and brands side: Koezio, Mars Wrigley, Victador, the DGAEV. I reach Chamonix from Lyon by road.

The quote takes into account writing, days on site (with a possible fallback day), editing and options such as animated route maps. Lift passes, travel from Lyon and a night in the valley are shown separately. Everything is explained on my pricing page.
In the streets and public spaces, the commune of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc must be approached. On a lift, an altitude site or a ski area, the operator’s agreement is also required. I handle these procedures.
Rarely. The Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve is closed to drones all year, areas of Mont Blanc are in summer to leave room for rescue helicopters, and the terrain complicates any flight. I check each zone; otherwise, the lifts offer high vantage points.
Yes. The Afterwork Running gave me a method: scout the course, list the highlights, film the pack then the finish. In the mountains, I pick accessible points and coordinate my positions with the organiser.
In late August, UTMB week fills the valley. A corporate shoot is hard to fit in, but a partner brand or a runner can be followed, with organisation set very far in advance.
About two and a half hours by road via the A40. By train, the journey is longer, with changes. For an early-morning shoot at altitude, I sleep in the valley the night before.
Yes: outdoor activity, plenary, interviews and evening, as for Koezio’s twentieth anniversary. In Chamonix, the conference centre, hotels and huts each have their own light and access constraints.
Yes: Les Houches, Argentière, Vallorcine, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Passy, Sallanches, Combloux, Megève, and beyond towards Annecy or the Swiss Valais.
A brand film, a seminar or a race filmed for an aftermovie are within my reach, with extra help if needed. For a multi-camera live broadcast of a race, a production company is better equipped: see my page video production, in Lyon.
Yes: route outline, elevation profile, aid stations, 3D elements. Everything is made in-house, which makes a race or an itinerary understandable in seconds.
Yes, within a strict framework: access by lifts or on foot depending on the subject, and a high-mountain guide as soon as we leave marked terrain or move onto a glacier.
Winter for skiing and resort atmosphere, with short days. Summer for trails, glaciers and races, with more people. Spring and autumn are calmer, but some lifts close.
Yes, by video call to scope the project, then on site the day before for scouting. The edit versions are then shared online.
Website, social media, shops, trade shows, reception screens: the music is licensed for these media. TV or billboard distribution is specified in the quote.
