Trade shows, brands and businesses · Geneva
Stands at Palexpo, conferences, company headquarters, watchmaking houses: based in Lyon, I film in Geneva in both languages, and I settle in advance the formalities of a foreign service provider.

What matters in Geneva
In Geneva, a video is often seen by an international audience: trade show visitors, foreign clients, partners who do not all speak French. The film must work without explanation, in several languages, with an image worthy of the brands on show.

Victador · integrated 3D
I film in your contacts’ language, French or English, as for Victador, run entirely in English, and I deliver subtitled versions for each market.
OLY · mobile format
Two hours by direct train or motorway from Lyon. For a shoot on the Swiss side, I anticipate the notification of the assignment and the customs clearance of equipment; on the French side of Greater Geneva, nothing more to plan.

Case studies
A brand stand at an international trade show, a film shot and delivered in English, an official ceremony at Les Invalides: three situations close to those you meet in Geneva. Each case study contains the film.

MARS WRIGLEY · TFWA
At the TFWA in Cannes, the international duty-free show, I covered the Mars Wrigley stand on video, with activities, meetings with visitors and the brand’s colours. Handheld shots, the venue’s light, slow motion and close-ups made it possible to follow the buzz without ever blocking the aisles. A stand at Palexpo, during Watches and Wonders or another show, is filmed with the same discretion.

VICTADOR · PROJECT IN ENGLISH
For Victador, everything was done in English and remotely with Yaxo, based in Toronto: brief, back-and-forth, approvals. My work: the full compositing and rotoscoping in Fusion, then, with Adrien Lafourcade, reworking the aircraft’s 3D shaders and adding the brand’s logo. For a Geneva company that collaborates with teams abroad, it is proof that a project can be run in English from start to delivery.

DGAEV · 14 JULY 2022
For the DGAEV, we had to translate the solemnity of the national day at Les Invalides into images: tributes, symbolic gestures, official speeches. I filmed in direct contact with the DGAEV team, at the pace of the protocol. An international organisation or a Geneva institution expects the same restraint at a ceremony or an official session.

Exhibiting brands, company headquarters, organisations, international schools, hotels: the film is designed for an audience that does not always speak French, and sees many videos go by.
Presenting a company, a manufacturer or a craft to an international clientele: a clear message, polished images, and language versions planned from the writing stage.

The format follows from the audience and the place of distribution: a trade show, a reception screen, a social network. Here are the most frequent choices for Geneva brands and businesses.
| Goal | Format | Length | Where to publish it | Why it works |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Present a house | Corporate film → | 1 to 3 min | Website, trade shows, meetings | Your story and your expertise, understood in every language. |
| Convince internationally | Client testimonial → | 1 to 2 min | Prospecting, LinkedIn | A client gives a testimonial, subtitled for each market. |
| Recruit in the region | Employer brand video → | 90 s + portraits | Careers site, LinkedIn | Your teams, on both sides of the border, talk about their jobs. |
| Showcase a trade show | Aftermovie → | 1 to 2 min | Exhibitors, visitors, social media | The stand’s highlights, delivered a few days after the show closes. |
| Publish during the event | Reels and vertical formats → | 15 to 45 s | Instagram, LinkedIn | Quickly edited capsules, to follow the show almost live. |
| Explain a mechanism | Motion design and 3D → | 1 to 2 min | Trade shows, website, training | A movement, a flow or a process, shown in animation. |
Geneva, the practical side
The City’s public space department issues temporary occupation permits; allow ten working days minimum.
Banned within 300 m of public buildings and international organisations; near the airport, case-by-case review.
An assignment in Switzerland is announced in advance and equipment is declared at customs: I prepare both points beforehand.
Watches and Wonders (14 to 20 April 2026) mobilises Palexpo and the hotels: you need to book early.
Geneva settings
Lakeside, old town, international district, industrial zones: each setting says something different to your clients. Six areas to know.
The jet d’eau, the quays and the grand hotels: Geneva’s most recognisable setting, to be filmed early in the morning or at blue hour, when the quays calm down.
Sloping alleys, Saint-Pierre cathedral, Parc des Bastions: a restrained, historic setting for an executive portrait or an institutional film.
International organisations, permanent missions and the CICG: a highly regulated area, where every shot is made only in the spaces authorised by the host institution.
Creative offices, workshops, cafés and Carouge’s Sardinian architecture: a livelier setting for a start-up, an agency or a fashion brand.
Watchmaking manufacturers and cutting-edge industries in the south-west of the canton: workshops open to cameras by appointment only, with strict rules on what can appear on screen.
The exhibition centre, beside the runways, hosts the big trade shows; Watches and Wonders occupied 77,000 m² there in April 2026. Technical access is negotiated with the exhibitor and the organiser well before opening.
Organisation
Preparation by video call, filming in Geneva, post-production in Lyon: language versions are planned from the start, not added at the end.
Audience, languages, places: a clear proposal, with Swiss formalities if needed.
Permits, assignment notification, equipment list, interview questions in each language.
One day for interviews or a conference, two or three to cover a whole trade show.
Editing, colour grading, mixing, FR and EN subtitles; other languages from your translations.
Trade shows
At a show like Watches and Wonders, attention peaks for only a few days. Two strategies coexist: feeding social media live, or crafting a reference film delivered afterwards.
The two are often combined: a few shots dedicated to social media during the event, then the main film. For a live broadcast or a multi-camera studio, a production company will be better suited.
Multi-camera recording? See my video production page →A trade show coming up?
Let’s talk about the calendar and the expected content: twenty minutes on the phone is enough to prepare the set-up. No obligation.
They trusted me
He took the time to listen to me and met all my expectations. A videographer who combines professionalism and approachability.
“Impeccable image quality, a smooth pace.”
“He knows how to handle the unexpected and adapt to different situations.”
“A serious, creative professional.”
“Great communication, a pleasure to work with him!”
Who films
Since 2018, I have been designing and making videos from end to end, from writing to visual effects. At a multi-day trade show, a second camera operator or a sound technician accompanies me; you keep the same director, who also speaks English.
Useful references for Geneva: the Mars Wrigley stand at the TFWA, Victador run in English with a Toronto team, the 14 July filmed for the DGAEV. From Lyon, I come to scout a stand or a venue before the day if needed.
FAQ · Geneva
A question, in English if you prefer? Send it to me, quick reply.
The same items as elsewhere (writing, filming, editing, language versions, subtitles, animation, drone), plus the trip from Lyon and, in Switzerland, the time for formalities. The details are on my pricing page.
Not with installed equipment: any temporary occupation of public land requires a permit from the City of Geneva’s public space department, at least ten working days before filming; an encroachment tax and administrative fees may be added. In a private interior, the permission comes from the owner.
Very rarely in town. Flying is banned within 300 metres of public buildings, including international organisations, and subject to review near the airport; some protected natural areas are also excluded. Permits are requested via the Swiss Drone Portal, in addition to the federal FOCA rules. Feasibility is checked before any aerial shot is proposed.
Yes. Victador was run from A to Z in English with a team based in Toronto. An interview in English, bilingual versions or subtitles in other languages, from your translations, are no problem.
Yes. I film the stand, the activities and the meetings, with capsules during the show if needed and a full film afterwards. For Watches and Wonders (14 to 20 April in 2026, over 77,000 m²), supplier access is prepared with the exhibitor well before opening. For several spaces in parallel, a second camera operator joins me.
About two hours by direct train, with several services a day, or a little less by motorway. A day of filming fits in a day return; for a multi-day show, I stay on site or on the French side.
A provider based in the European Union must announce its assignment to the Swiss authorities before coming, and equipment is declared at customs with the right documents. I build these steps into the schedule and the quote: you have nothing to manage.
Everywhere in the canton (Carouge, Meyrin, Plan-les-Ouates, Vernier, Lancy) and beyond: Nyon, Lausanne, Montreux, as well as the French Genevois, from Annemasse to Saint-Genis-Pouilly and Ferney-Voltaire.
For a stand, interviews, a conference or a brand film, yes, supported if needed. A live broadcast, a multi-camera studio or a programme need more: these resources are described on the page video production.
Yes, in 3D or motion design, from your plans or photos: gears, flows, interfaces. The modelling and compositing are done by me, which lets me blend animation with footage shot on your stand or in your workshops.
Yes: talks, round tables, audience questions, then an edited summary and clips per speaker. In official venues, I respect the authorised zones and hours.
In spring as in autumn, the light over the harbour is lovely; in winter, the bise wind can make exteriors unpleasant and interfere with sound. During the big trade shows, hotels and providers are in high demand: better to plan early.
Script and shooting plan approved by email, then edits shared online and commented on the picture, including by your teams abroad.
Website, social media, stand screens, presentations, newsletters: you use them everywhere. The music licence covers all this; for television or billboards, a rights extension is added to the quote.
