The port of Fréjus, its colourful façades and its red footbridge, seen from the sky

Videographer in
Fréjus.

I have already filmed in Fréjus: the video for a car dealership (Nissan, MG, Alpine, Volvo), then the film for the Thalasso Les Issambres, right next door. Forty minutes from Cannes, where I film regularly, I work for businesses in the Var, hotels, event organisers and tourism players.

What matters in Fréjus

A setting that changes
with the seasons.

In Fréjus, summer crowds change everything: beaches, port and town centre fill up from June. I schedule exteriors early in the morning or in the off-season, when the light is lovely and places are calmer, and I prepare permits well in advance.

Riviera experience

Car dealership in Fréjus, thalassotherapy centre at Les Issambres, Mars Wrigley stand at the TFWA: I know the rhythm of shoots on the Riviera, its access constraints and its brand requirements.

Thinking vertical at the shoot

Hotels, restaurants, rental firms and tourist sites live off their social media. As for Teddy Riner’s OLY app, I frame each shot so that it also works in 9:16, with subtitles readable without sound.

Far from Lyon, close to Cannes

Fréjus is about four and a half hours’ drive from Lyon, but around forty minutes from Cannes, where I film regularly. For a project on site, I come the day before: scouting, access and the next day’s light are prepared in peace.

Case studies

Volume, vertical
and events.

A library of 240 sessions, the launch of an app in vertical format, a company anniversary over one day: three projects that resemble the requests of hotels, brands and organisers on the Riviera. Each case study shows the result.

Sports video made for the ASPTT

ASPTT · MOOVA

240 sessions, a series-style organisation

The ASPTT was launching MOOVA, its sport and wellness app, with a library of 240 sessions of 20 to 30 min, from yoga to strength training. My role: edit a large part of the sessions, manage the exports and deliverables, around 17 TB of files tracked line by line in a production sheet. A hotel group, a tourist office or a company preparing a content catalogue needs the same rigour.

Teddy Riner filmed in vertical format for OLY

OLY × TEDDY RINER

A sports app, filmed in vertical

For OLY, a sports coach in your pocket conceived with Teddy Riner, launch videos designed for the phone were needed. I produced this content in 9:16: the judoka on camera and exercises shown step by step, in a dark set streaked with green neon. For a hotel, a restaurant or a rental firm on the coast, this is the kind of format that puts a place on the map on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.

Koezio’s 20th anniversary party

KOEZIO · 20 YEARS

A whole day, three atmospheres

Koezio celebrated its twentieth anniversary with its teams: team building, conferences, then an evening party. The film moves from team challenges to speeches, then to the evening festivities, without losing the thread. A seminar in the Estérel or a company evening on the coast raises the same question: how to keep a narrative when the mood changes three times in a day.

Fréjus, the practical side

Before filming in Fréjus: four points.

Public space

Beaches, port, old town: a shoot with equipment is reported to the City in advance, especially in season. In a venue or on a private site, it is the owner’s permission that counts.

Drone and coastline

Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël aerodrome, seafront and Estérel nature areas: each flight is checked before being offered.

High season

In July and August, beaches and port are saturated: I schedule exteriors early in the morning or in the off-season.

Roman heritage

The arena, the ancient theatre and the cathedral complex are filmed with their managers’ agreement and according to their opening hours.

Fréjus settings

Fréjus, between sea
and heritage.

Beaches, marina, Roman remains and the Estérel massif: the settings change within minutes. Six areas to keep in mind.

Old town and cathedral

Alleys, place Formigé, episcopal complex and cloister: a heritage setting for a portrait, an institution or a town-centre shop.

Arena and Roman theatre

Roman-era amphitheatre and theatre: stone tiers for a show recording or a brand film, subject to the City’s agreement.

Port-Fréjus

Marina with colourful façades, bridges and quays: the port’s postcard view, ideal for a hotel, a restaurant or a boat hire firm, with the drone if the rules allow.

Fréjus-Plage

Promenade, long beaches and summer festivities: seaside light for a brand film, an interview facing the sea or an evening.

François-Léotard nature base

A natural seaside area with lakes and paths: a setting for a countryside seminar, a sports event or leisure content.

Estérel and hinterland

Red rocks of the Estérel, hills of the Var and villages within half an hour: nature for a brand film or a seminar. Weather, access and nature-area rules are checked the day before.

Film or series

A single film
or a series?

A hotel, a restaurant or a tourist site often needs a main film and several variations for the season. You still need to choose the right formula from the start.

A single film

  • — One central message, one highlight.
  • — One or two filming days.
  • — Published on the website and at trade shows.
  • — Ideal for presenting an organisation.

A video series

  • + Short episodes in the same format.
  • + Several sessions spread over the year.
  • + A shared visual identity.
  • + Regular posting on social media.
  • + Useful for training or recruitment.

A lead film can in fact open a series. For a recurring programme with a studio, several cameras or a live broadcast, a much larger film crew is needed.

Portrait of Quentin Berguet, videographer and director

The videographer

Quentin Berguet,
from Lyon to the French Riviera.

A director since 2018, I film and edit myself, animation, 3D and visual effects included. For a conference or a dense series, a camera operator or a sound technician comes to support me; you always deal with me.

Among my references: the Fréjus car dealership video, the Thalasso Les Issambres, Mars Wrigley at the TFWA, the DGAEV 14 July, the ASPTT MOOVA library and the launch of the OLY app with Teddy Riner. I film regularly in Cannes, forty minutes from Fréjus.

FAQ · Fréjus

Fréjus,
practical questions.

Anything else to ask me? One message is enough, I reply within one business day.

What budget for a film in Fréjus?

The cost depends mainly on writing, the number of sessions, post-production and options (3D, aerial shots, subtitling, short versions). As Fréjus is far from Lyon, travel is an item to plan for (journey, meals, an overnight stay if needed); it decreases when several shoots are grouped on the coast. The details of each item are in my video pricing guide.

Do I need to notify the City before filming outdoors?

Yes, as soon as the shoot occupies public space (beach, port, street, square) with equipment or a crew. I contact the City of Fréjus’s departments several weeks ahead, especially in season, to learn the conditions and lead times. In a private interior, only the manager’s go-ahead counts.

Can the port and the coast be filmed by drone?

Often, but not everywhere. The Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël aerodrome, the coastline busy in summer and the Estérel nature areas have their own rules. Each zone is checked, declarations made; failing that, a shot from a height or a quay often does the job.

Can you film in a hotel or a restaurant?

Yes, and it is a frequent request on the coast. We set the shoot outside service hours or in low season, with the management’s agreement; guests who appear on screen are informed, or blurred in the edit if needed.

A video for a dealership or a shop?

Yes: for the Fréjus dealership, I presented the Nissan, MG, Alpine and Volvo vehicles, inside and out, respecting each brand’s identity. The same principle applies to a shop, a showroom or a boutique.

Is Fréjus far from Lyon?

Yes: allow about 4 h 30 by road (A7 then A8), or four to five hours by train with a change. For a shoot, I often come the day before. By contrast, Cannes, where I film regularly, is only about forty minutes away.

Do you work for hotels and wellness venues?

Yes: presentation film, views of rooms and spaces, behind the scenes, vertical content for Instagram and TikTok. I made the film for the “ Thalasso Les Issambres ”, in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, very close to Fréjus. I prepare a shooting plan that shows the venue at its best without disturbing guests.

Where do you work around Fréjus?

All over the eastern Var and the coast: Saint-Raphaël, Roquebrune-sur-Argens, Les Issambres, Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez, Draguignan, and as far as Cannes, Nice and Monaco.

Videographer or production agency in Fréjus?

For an institutional film, a series or an event, a videographer-director, supported if needed, offers flexibility and a controlled budget. For a multi-camera studio, a programme or a live broadcast, you need a larger team: I describe them on my page Cannes video production.

Can you produce seasonal videos?

Yes. We define a template together (length, graphics, typical shots), then I film in sessions and edit as we go. Exports are adapted to your channels: website, Google listing, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or reception screens.

And for Instagram or TikTok?

Yes, that is what I did for OLY and Teddy Riner: 9:16 framing planned at the shoot, subtitles readable without sound, and if needed a horizontal version delivered alongside for the website.

Which season to film in Fréjus?

April to June and September–October are ideal: soft light, calm sea, quieter places. In July–August, beaches and port are full: I film early in the morning or late in the day. Winter remains possible for interiors, heritage sites and low-season content.

Can we meet before filming?

Yes: by video call from the start, then on site the day before the shoot for scouting. I am regularly in Cannes, about forty minutes away: a meeting can be fitted in during a trip to the coast.

What uses for the delivered videos?

You publish them freely on your channels: website, social media, trade shows, presentations, intranet. The purchased music covers these uses; a TV campaign or billboard use requires an extended licence, provided for in the quote.
